PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Here we are again at the beginning of another year. It’s a chance to wipe our
slates clean and start over again. I am really excited about this year! There are so
many exciting things looming over the horizon - chapter meetings, ACE meeting,
advocacy day, transcription week, state meeting to name a few. I myself am
looking forward to getting out of my comfort zone a little more than I have in the
past, if that’s possible!
Two of the goals we have set for our chapter are to increase membership and
work at getting our association out into the public eye. I recently attended a
meeting of allied health care professionals and would you believe not one of
them had any idea what I did? This is why it is so important to get out there and
let the pubic know who we are and what we do. What does John Q. Public know?
Not very much I’m afraid. We need to change that.
We are also looking forward to using new technology (for us) this year. We held
our first board meeting as a webinar. It was trial and error, but all in all worked
out quite well and we had fun! We are looking forward to holding more meetings
using this format.
We are also looking forward to holding 2 one-day symposiums this year, one in
Buffalo, NY and one in Warren, PA. These promise to be a great chance for CECs
with some excellent speakers. Further details on these meetings can be found in
the NAMC-AHDI 2008 Spring Symposium Invitation.
I am looking forward to working with my fellow officers and committees and hope
to accomplish much in the coming year. Make plans now to come out and join us
for an exciting year in 2008!
